What is yellow maize?

First of all, we can use the USDA definition of corn as follows:

  • Grain consisting of 50 percent or more of whole kernels of shell dent corn or shell flint corn

  • May contain no more than 10 percent of other grains

  • Whole kernels are kernels with three-fourth or more of kernels present

  • Other grains include barley, canola, flaxseed, oats, rye, sorghum, soybeans, sunflower seed, triticale and wheat

Note: This is only the minimum requirements for the USDA definition and our corn contains much greater percentage of whole kernels, and contains no other grains other than corn.

Yellow Maize / Yellow Corn:

Yellow kernels with a slight tinge of red.  No more than 5% of other colors of corn. Our corn contains less than 0.1% of other colors.
